We are excited and very proud to announce that Tube Tech International Managing Director, Jon Camp, has won two prestigious accolades at the 2019 Institute of Directors (IoD) East of England awards ceremony, which was held in Newmarket this month.

Jon was not only named as the 2019 IoD East of England International Director of the Year but was awarded the prestigious Chairman’s Award, which recognises a single business leader who has made a significant contribution to business in the region.

Flying in from Houston earlier in the day, Jon arrived at the beautiful Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket but was typically modest about his chances of picking up an award.
On being announced as the International Director of the Year due to his ‘exceptional vision and contribution’, Jon’s surprise was evident, but he calmly went up to collect his award to a rapturous round of applause.

As the most prestigious accolade of the ceremony, the Chairman’s Award was the final award to be announced. Jon settled back at the table content with his International Director of the Year title.
“The winner of the Chairman’s Award has demonstrated professionalism, resilience, good governance and a collaborative approach to leadership,” the judging panel explained. “He has flown in from Houston this morning…”

Yep. Jon had just been announced as the winner of the Chairman’s Award!

Quite happy to be burning off some calories from the three-course lunch provided, Jon once again graced the stage to collect his second award of the day.

We managed to grab a word with Jon after collecting his awards, who was understandably over the moon!

He said:

“I couldn’t be more chuffed about winning the International Director of the Year award. I am very humbled that the judging panel chose me to be the recipient of this award amongst some very stiff competition. To also win the Chairman’s Award was completely unexpected, but I am so thrilled that myself and Tube Tech International have been acknowledged in this way.

“I would like to dedicate both awards to the whole of the Tube Tech International team. Without the hard work of everyone involved, we would not have met our goals as a business. These awards are testament to the fantastic group of people we have at the company and all of the hard work put in throughout the years.”

As a Regional Director of the Year award winner, Camp now qualifies for the U.K. Director of the Year Awards, which will take place in London at The Brewery on 18 October 2019.
