A major European petrochemical plant suffered heavy fouling of its Naphtha furnace, having never been cleaned since installation. The client contacted Tube Tech and joint venture partner TTM to schedule a clean of the asset during a planned turnaround. Other process issues forced the job to be brought forward, requiring swift planning and execution from all parties.
Robotic fouling removal technology from TTIL was identified as the best option for completing the cleaning required in the allocated time and to the best possible standard. After a site safety induction and set-up of the equipment, a trial of the robotic technology was carried out to ensure the client was satisfied with the results. They were extremely happy, so cleaning could commence.
Tube Tech’s robotic fouling removal technology was able to access up to 95% of the surface area of the asset. This figure is usually 30 or 40%, using traditional cleaning methods. Based upon previous cleaning work scopes, the stack temperature of the asset will be reduced, which in turn will increase productivity and reduce CO2 emissions. The client expressed their satisfaction with the professionalism and quality of the clean.
