Tube Tech Sports, a veteran’s team sponsored by Tube Tech, recently took part in a charity football match in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The game against Towner Vets took place at East Thurrock United's Rookery Hill ground and was a tribute to Jake Morgan.
Jake, who was 24, recently passed away from cancer. The match was originally planned to raise funds to help him obtain specialist treatment in Germany but in the wake of his death the organisers decided to carry on with the game as a tribute to him, with funds raised going to the charity.
The match finished 4-1 to the Towner Vets, with Tube Tech Sports missing two penalties! The Towner Vets team featured some well-known names including former West Ham players Alan Dickens and George Parris. Despite some suspect penalty-taking and the final result, we are very proud to have been involved for such a great cause.
